Steps for obtaining a license for medical cannabis

In Israel, it is possible to receive cannabis treatment using a license.

A patient requesting a license to treat cannabis should reach a medical specialist

The doctor will fill out an online form on the Ministry of Health website and attach medical documents.

Documents to attach:

1. Summary of family physician file

2. Drug Issue Report – preferably for the past two years (in order to show which drugs you have purchased)

3. Documents relevant to the reason for the request

The medical indications for obtaining a license appear in Ministry of Health Directive 106, which is updated from time to time. In cases that do not appear in the procedure, there is still room to file an application, each case being discussed on its merits.

There is a possibility of choosing a supplier – if the name of the supplier is not mentioned by the Ministry of Health.

After completing the online form, a signature and stamp of the physician and patient signature are required.

A license to use medical cannabis is valid only in Israel.

The conditions of holding and use have recently been updated.

It is permitted to carry outside the home up to 5 days of consumption

Vaporizers or oil can be used anywhere

Please note – smoking is still allowed only at the registered address! (Usually at the patient’s home)
